Then become a Mathnasium Math Instructor! Mathnasium, the Math Learning Center, is now hiring for our Alameda location! We teach in a way that makes sense to students in 2nd through 12th grade. Join us for the opportunity to make a REAL difference in a child’s life by helping to develop a love for math! We offer part-time jobs with flexible scheduling and ongoing training opportunities. Currently offering remote, online instruction only.

Required Qualifications:

·Available at least 2 days per week (Mon through Fri)

·Solid math skills through Algebra II

·Excellent communication skills

·Ability to professionally interact with students and other instructors

·Energetic and confident personality

Preferred Qualifications:

·Previous teaching experience or other experience working with students

·Organizational skills to tract student progress

·Ability to learn our software for running the business

·Sales and customer service experience

·Leadership and management skills

Schedule

·Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri: 2pm to 6:30pm

·Wed: 1pm to 6:30pm

·Sat: 10am to 2pm

High school sophomores or juniors with strong math skills through Algebra II or who are in/have taken higher math courses are encouraged to apply. EMBARC SUMMER DESIGN ACADEMY (UC BERKELEY)

UC Berkeley: Whitney Lab Summer Internship

The Whitney Lab at UC Berkeley is offering a summer internship program for high schoolers. The goal of the internship program is to provide academically advanced high schoolers a hands-on research experience. In the summer internship, students will learn advanced computer coding and statistical analysis techniques that are fundamental to a successful career in all scientific fields. It is highly competitive, and it is a fee-based program. CA College of the Arts hosts a 4-week summer program for talented and motivated high school students. Applications due in March. Financial Aid is available.

Metropolitan Transportation Committee (MTC) - Internship Program

Interested in transportation as a potential career?  MTC is offering 40 paid internships for high school students this summer.

Requirements:

• Live and go to school in the county where the student is applying
• Completed their sophomore year in school
• Be at least 16 years of age by June
• GPA of 2.8 or higher

Are you going to be a junior or senior in high school? If so, consider spending June and July in one of our six distinct Pre-College programs. You can either explore architecture, art, drama, music or the National High School Game Academy to prepare yourself for study at the college level. Through our Advanced Placement/Early Action program, you can take two challenging college courses in order to gain advanced placement and get a head start in college.

Students must be in high school, have completed their sophomore year and 16 to 18 years old.  No exceptions will be made.

Interested in a pre-college summer art program?  Otis College of Art & Design offers a four-week college preparation program, "Summer of Art." Summer of Art provides artists ages 15 and older with a college immersion experience in art and design. University of Chicago

The University of Chicago offers the Neubauer Family Adelante Summer Scholars Program for rising seniors. Top students engaged in Hispanic and Latino communities can participate in a University of Chicago Summer Session course free of charge. OXBRIDGE ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

Oxbridge Academic Programs has been welcoming intellectually adventurous high school and junior high school students to Europe for nearly 25 years.

Professor James Basker has designed these programs for students in grades 8 to 12 - all with the goal of giving young people the opportunity to live and study in the historic and scholarly centers of learning that are Oxford and Cambridge in England, Barcelona in Spain, and Paris and Montpellier in France. These remarkable cities are our classrooms – the best classrooms in the world.

THE STUDENT CONSERVATION CREWS

If you are currently in high school, between 15 and 19, and looking for tuition-free opportunities to serve planet earth, SCA's National Conservation Crews are for you. As a successful applicant, you can contribute to sustaining the earth’s bountiful resources for two-five weeks during the summer. With a group of 6-8 students and two experienced leaders, you'll sleep under the stars and connect to the land in ways you never thought possible.

There's work to be done in all 50 states -- in parks and forests, on riverbanks and mountains, at fisheries and beaches. Crew members get up early rain or shine and spend the day felling trees, prying rocks from the ground, building lean-tos, and removing invasive plants. They become proficient at filtering water, cooking over a propane stove, using new tools and digging a backcountry latrine while respecting leave-no-trace ethics. Crewmates from around the country form lasting friendships.

Cooking Round the World is a summer camp program that teaches children, ages 6 – 13, about food and cultures from around the world.

            Cooking Round the World is looking for counselors for our Alameda camp.

            Counselor candidates should:

• Be between ages 16 - 18
• Have experience working with children
• Know their way around a kitchen and be able to follow a recipe and cook
• Be able and willing to do a thorough clean up job
• Always arrive on time and leave when things are cleaned up
• Have transportation to get to camp

 

There are 1/2 day and full day positions available.

◊ Half Day hours are 8:30 - 1:30, M - F. Pay is $250/week

◊ Full Day Hours are 8:30 - 4:30, M - F. Pay is $400/week
