Scholarships for 9th, 10th, and 11th Graders
The Princeton Prize in Race Relations recognizes students who are helping improve race relations in their schools or communities. Winners are awarded up to $1,000 and invited to Princeton University for an expense-paid weekend symposium on race. You must be a current 9-12th grader in high school. Apply at www.princeton.edu/pprize Applications due in January.
Nordstrom Scholarship - The Nordstrom Scholarship is open to high school juniors who:
- Live and attend school in one of the participating 30 states where Nordstrom currently has a full-line store. Not sure if there's a store in your state?
See our Store Locations. - Have at least a 2.7 GPA (based on a 4.0 scale) throughout high school.
- Volunteer or participate in community services or extracurricular activities.
- Plan on attending an accredited four-year college or university during the four years over which the scholarship is distributed. The scholarship is paid out in equal installments of $2,500.
- Plan on applying for financial assistance in order to attend college.
Students Rising Above - Each spring, Students Rising Above accepts applications for new students who meet our application criteria. Do you know an exceptional student who is “beating the odds” and dreams of going to college?
Students must meet the following criteria:
• Strong strength of character
• Have overcome obstacles that are not of their own making
• From a low-income family
• High School Junior
• Committed to earning a four-year college degree
• Highly recommended by a teacher, counselor, or mentor
• Willing to share their personal story
• Maintain a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher
• Live within the eleven-county Bay Area
All students who meet our eligibility criteria and who have a desire to go to college and earn a Bachelor’s degree are encouraged to submit an application.
Our selection process is highly competitive. Each year more than 350 students apply to our program and roughly 50-60 students are accepted. We encourage educators, community members, and mentors who are committed to helping deserving students go to college to forward our application guidelines to eligible students.
Questbridge - College Prep Scholarship: Attention high school juniors! Do you have a strong academic record and an annual family income of less than $60,000? The College Prep Scholarship provides opportunities to help qualified students successfully navigate the college admissions process. The awards include:
- Full scholarships to summer programs at leading colleges and universities
- Individualized college admissions counseling by QuestBridge staff or Quest college students
- Invitations to the QuestBridge College Admissions Conferences at partner colleges
- All-expense-paid visits to college campuses and MORE!

Interested in architecture, construction or engineering? Ace Mentor program provides scholarships and internships for students. Open to sophomores, juniors and seniors. Students are encouraged to participate for all three years of high school for maximum benefit. You participate in a 12 week program afterschool. There is no charge.
